The Albanese government has been trying to focus on one thing — the cost-of-living crisis. Labor identifies the cost-of-living as the central concern among voters.
However, new polling from RedBridge suggests that Labor is failing miserably to connect with voters on the cost-of-living issue, with only 24% of Australians surveyed stating that they could name a single thing that had made their lives better since the Albanese government was elected:
Kos Samaris from RedBridge explains that the poor “outcome reflects a lack of communication discipline, the costly expenditure of political capital on a referendum in 2023 just as the affordability crisis intensified, and an overall failure of discipline to stay connected with the public’s concerns – everyday via the government’s public facing activity”.
