Political tribalism is creating a generation of incompetent political staffers

In the realm of politics, the role of the political staffer in the path to being a career politician is an often overlooked one.

Where once the path to Australian Parliament or Capitol Hill in Washington far more frequently wound its way through military service, business ownership or blue-collar employment, it is increasingly one defined by individuals who spent a majority of their working life, if not its entirety, working within the political machine of partisan politics.

A notable recent example of this is Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, who spent his working life prior to becoming an MP working in various positions within the Labor Party.
